Mantequilla Double
Corona
Origin: Nicaragua
Size: 7.00 X 48
Wrapper: EMS
JR
Cigar says:
"Mantequilla" means "butter" in Spanish
and is a perfect name for this buttery, sweet Nicaraguan
puro. With a choice between a rich EMS or a chocolate
maduro wrapper, these square-pressed, densely packed cigars
are literally exploding in sales volume.

Notes:
JR's catalog says Mantequilla
is Spanish for butter. I say
it's English for plugged. I
have three boxes of these and
almost all of them are plugged.
They are not too moist and therefore
not drawing, they're plugged
as in the bunch is rolled over
or incorrectly. I've aged them
for two years including leaving
one box out for 7 months to
dry (just in case it was too
moist as JR's claimed). Nothing
helps these cigars. They are
poorly made from poor tobacco.
Even when you do find one that's
not plugged it's lacking in
flavor and depth. I've had better
tasting seconds.

Notes:
JR has become more and more just a self serving high
profile cigar retailer. Once I think they really were
the cigar smokers friend, now I think they are nothing
more than hype.
This is not a bad cigar, but it's not, nor will it ever
be a good cigar. The ones I smoked I had in my 'dor for
over two years. I'd have hoped that with that kind of
time, they might have turned into something worth talking
about. But if you start out mediocre, your not gonna get
a whole lot better. Butter? Bullshit. Save your money.
