This is a well built, even burning, rock solid Toro size cigar. It is not fancy, and it's certainly not famous. Infamous is more like it. I hear people call these cigars "Dog Rockets" day-in and day-out. But I've got to tell you, that with enough 'dor time, these will become your day-in, day-out cigar. That is if you like a strong, full bodied smoke.

This cigar came in the La Finca Ammo Box offer from Jr Cigar,
98 cigars & the ammo box for $60.00. Just over 60 cents each!

The real beauty of these cigars IS the fact that most folks think they suck. I can't say for sure, but I think that's why the price for these babies remains so low.

One of the fun things about cigars is that it is such a taste and perception driven hobby. If your perception of a cigar is that it's great, then it is. If you think it's a Dog Rocket...then it sucks. There are brands, styles, sizes, wrappers and price ranges to satisfy eveyone's fancy. I really like this brand, the Cazadores is the only one in the La Finca line that I have not liked.

The review below was written by my good friend MacDaddy from Indiana. Mac received one of these from me as part of a sampler I sent him. The deal here is, I sent this stick without a band as a "Mystery Smoke" Mac had no idea what he was smoking, where it was from, or how old it was. Here are his notes:

Notes:

The draw was a little tight, but not too tight to get plenty of tasty, rich smoke. This cigar had some age on it because of the way the wrapper "melted". It burned excellent. Medium bodied. This dude was earthy and woody with lots of flavor for a medium body. Dominican? I liked this stogie and would buy it depending on price. Rated 82 out of 100.

These next reviews by two other good friends of mine, CopDad out in Orlando, and Nikko in New York were also a blind tasting for them. They like MacDaddy above had no idea what they were smoking. Here's what they said:

Nice, looking, mottled wrapper of generally good construction. It had a slight flaw near the foot. Started with good burn and ash, excellent draw, and a lot of smoke. I got some ragged burn about two thirds down the stick. Taste was satisfactory until that last third of the cigar, I thought it ended a tad harsh. Overall a decent smoke, but I didn't like it enough to want to buy some.

I LOVED IT!!! The construction and burn were excellent, though it was far from the most beautiful cigar I've ever seen. The one flaw I found was that the draw was a little tight, not plugged, but a little more effort on the draw was needed than I would have preferred. The medium-bodied cigar had a rich tobacco flavor that was well-balanced by a little bit of bite. There was no undue harshness throughout the entire cigar and I loved it. I will definitely buy some of these.

Here is another blind taste test review:

Notes:

The taste was mild all of the way from start to finish. It was the length and ring gauge that I prefer a 6 X 50. The ash was white and hung on for a long time

I really liked this cigar, it was just right for an early summer evening after dinner smoke. It lasted about 40 minutes and was good the whole time. This is a cigar that I would recommend to my friends and would like to stock my 'dor with.

Yet another "Mystery Smoke" review, this one not so good:

Reviewed by: Rob Duron

Notes:

This was the mystery smoke you sent me for my review. It was impossible to tell how good it could have been because it would not draw at all and after about a 5 minute fight I put it out. "Life is too short to smoke bad cigars." Anyway thanks for the attempt.
