Trilogy Churchill Native Cameroon
Origin: Honduras Trilogy Churchill Native Cameroon
Size: 6.75 X 50
Wrapper: Natural Cameroon

From Alec Bradley Cigars:
Trilogy is available in three distinctively different wrappers that give smokers their choice of flavors: Exotic Brazilian (a Maduro Arapiraca leaf), Native Cameroon from Africa (natural), and Authentic Corojo (a deep, rich reddish-brown, first-generation Cuban Corojo tobacco from 1998). Trilogy's blend and wrapper offer the smoker a mild-to-medium smoke, but with rich flavor and complexity. Body and flavor aren't the same. Some strong cigars have little flavor, and mild cigars like Trilogy are often loaded with flavor.

Notes:

Personally I'd never heard of Alec Bradley until I got an email one day complimenting me on this site and asking if I'd like to sample the new Trilogy line. I apologize here for not remembering the woman's name that I spoke to when I called them, but she sent me out a very cool sampler in a really neat glass top, wooden box.

So these cigars have been sitting in my humidor for at least six months now. I saw an ad in a cigar magazine the other day for them, and thought...Hey! I've got those...so I fired up the Native Cameroon today, and what a great surprise. First of all the construction was perfect. The cigar itself was smooth and solid. The pre burn aroma was subtle but definitely rich tobacco. The burn was slow and even, the ash solid and white. The quote above from the Alec Bradley web site is right on target about body and flavor not being the same. This cigar was on the mild side of medium, but it was full of rich satisfying flavor. The cigar lasted for well over an hour and never got hot or harsh.

Overall this was a really, really, good cigar. My only complaint is the shape, it's dumb. The cigar is box pressed into a triangle, at first it's kind of interesting, but in reality, it's just dumb. This cigar is really good, I got the feeling that old Alec Bradley thought he might need a gimmick to sell it, I don't think he does. I like box pressed cigars, but I don't think you need to get this kinky about it. Once again, the cigar is great, the shape is dumb.
