Notes:
Appearance (14 of 15 pts.)
This cigar is a 7 x 48 Churchill that comes wrapped in
a cedar sleeve. It has two bands, one bearing the Torano
name, the other with the 1916 date on it. The Cameroon
wrapper is beautiful, slightly toothy with not a vein
on it. Really something to look at.
Flavor (22 of 25 pts.)
The cigar is medium bodied with a creamy sweet flavor.
It has hints of pepper, wood and sweet coffee. The wood
and sweet flavors being dominant.
Smoking Characteristics (24 of 25 pts.)
The cigar smokes wonderfully. The draw is excellent, producing
large volumes of creamy smoke. It burns very even without
a need to relight or touch up. I've noticed an average
smoke time of about an hour give or take, depending on
how I smoke it. Regardless of my aggressiveness, it's
never harsh or hot.
Overall Impression (32 of 35 pts.)
This cigar is a real treat all the way around. It's affordable,
and lacks nothing in the construction, presentation, or
flavor departments. It's become one of my favorite cigars
in any price range, and I'd recommend them to anyone.
For fans of the Cameroon wrapper, this cigar is a must
have.
Overall Rating - 92
PS
I've had a few of the cigars from this box resting in
my humidor since Dec. and what a difference 6 mos. can
make. If you can wait, I'd highly recommend giving these
cigars some age before you smoke 'em, it makes a world
of difference. The same goes for the Torano Exodus Gold.
