Notes:
At 6" x 52 this is a manly
sized cigar. Reasonably priced
I pay $13.03 Canadian, which
is pretty good for around here.
FYI the Province I live in Canada,
Ontario, has a 56.6% tax on
cigars. Hey if the Government
can't screw you then who can?
You can then add another 6%GST
tax to the $13.03 for a grand
total of $13.81 but who's counting.
I have read several reviews
on the Churchill Thomas Hinds,
all pretty much describing the
Churchill as very mild.
I cannot describe this Torpedo
stick as mild; I would have
to go with a medium. The cigar
burned even and developed about
1" of ash before it dropped
off. The draw was very hard
like trying to suck a golf ball
up 50' of garden hose. After
a hefty draw sufficient volume
of smoke was produced. These
sticks may have been at an incorrect
moisture level, I am not sure.
Perhaps more drying or aging
may improve the draw.
The Hinds, had a flavor that,
and this hurts me to say this
but I can only describe as spicy.
I never thought my mouth would
ever say the word spicy while
describing a cigar flavor; I
will blame it on my lack of
grasp of the English language.
Don't ask me what spice, just
kind of spice flavor not dirt
tasting like the Cubans that
I am more accustomed to. I found
the Thomas Hinds, to have plenty
of flavor that lingered for
several hours after I had finished
my puff.
I rated this stick a 5 out
of 10, reasonable price makes
it a candidate for an every
day smoke. Worth a try.
