Notes:
This was a Christmas gift from my good friends Tim &
Rebecca. As usual I set it in one of my humis and let
it rest.
Six months later while doing research on another cigar
I came across the “Rocky Vintage” and said…Holy
Shit…I’ve got some of those…So a few
days later I fired up the robusto while doing a little
BBQ in the backyard.
First off the stick is one of the most beautiful cigars
I have ever seen. The construction was absolutely flawless….smooth,
solid. Oily…and really, really pretty.
Now the wrapper is ten years old…so was it actually
a “natural” or a “maduro”?
Your guess is as good as mine…It was dark, dark,
dark. Not Oscuro but it was no EMS either.
The pre-burn scent said…”This is the shit”…
I fired it up and was terribly disappointed…it
was bitter and nasty. Heartbroken I continued. Within
five minutes the cigar settled into one of the most kick-ass
cigar experiences I have ever had.
It was strong out of the gate…which I may have
confused with bitterness at the start…It did not
get stronger because it was strong from the beginning…Now
I don’t know how all the Foo Foo bullshit reviewers
rate this cigar, but I do agree with the note above…this
stick is not for beginners. It kicked my ass from start
to finish.
The Details: The burn was perfect, the flavor was pure
tobacco, the ash was bright white and solid.
This was flat out a great cigar. If you get a chance
buy some.
Tim & Rebecca also gave me a Torp and a Chuch that
I’ve not smoked yet…but I will soon and I’ll
post the review.
