La Escepcion Frank
Llaneza Series III
Origin: Honduras
Size: 6.12 X 48
Wrapper: Ecuadoran EMS
From Holts:
La Escepcion is a new, yet old cigar that comes from the
best factory in Honduras. La Escepcion has a great chocolate
brown Ecuador Sumatra wrapper with all long filler Nicaraguan
and Honduran Cuban seed filler tobaccos. They are full
bodied and packed without cellophane

Notes:
The La Escepcion Series III is the third in a limited
edition line (starting in '99) from the Villazon factory
in Honduras (same place that makes Hoyo de Monterrey and
JR Ultimates). The Series III is a medium to full bodied
smoke. This particular cigar, the Frank Llanza double
corona size, is wrapped in a dark Ecuadorian grown EMS
leaf with an oily sheen. It is well constructed, with
a Honduran/Nicaraguan filler. The wrapper imparts a peppery,
spicy taste, but in keeping with the Hoyo and JR Ultimate
cigars from the same factory, that is understandable.
The cigar draws well, with a lot of smoke. The strength
is on the high end of medium, with lots of robust tobacco
flavor. Obviously, this is a quality cigar. If you like
a stronger, but not overpowering, Honduran cigar, this
one is a good choice. It reminded me a lot of the JR Ultimate
double corona, but a tad milder.
