A full-bodied Honduran bundle that is one of the lowest-priced

Notes:
Don Mateo is a lower priced, bundle packed, all long-filler
cigar that has been around a long time. I started smoking
them in the late 1980's and have stayed with Don Mateo
for over 15 years. They are very reasonably priced: $26
for a 25 cigar bundle in the double corona size (6.8"
X 48 ring gauge) from JR's Cigars. One sure thing about
Don Mateo is they are consistent! The taste, construction,
wrapper, filler has not changed in 15 years. The wrapper
is a veiny, sort of tough Mexican dark wrapper; darker
than the usual EMS but lighter than maduro. The filler
is blend of Honduran-Nicaraguan tobacco. Full bodied,
but not strong. I'd rate it on the upper end of the "medium
spectrum". The cigars draw well and put out a lot
of grey smoke. Don Mateo is not a "pretty" cigar,
but it is a good, consistent, everyday smoke.
