You've made quite a diplomatic choice with Macanudo Diplomat cigars. These embody everything that is wonderful and pure with Macanudo. A mildly flavorful Dominican blend and a selective binder that is grown in the rich San Andres Tuxtla Valley of Mexico, you just can't go wrong. This box of twenty-five has a length and ring size of 4.50 x 60 and a beautiful Connecticut shade wrapper.

This was my first Maduro and I was so looking forward to smoking it. I enjoy cigars on a little sweeter side and so I was on a hunt to find such a beast. I read that dark wrappers were often called Maduro's and tended to be sweeter. It was only after purchasing the Macanudo that I did my research to discover that it was a Dominican smoke, which may explain why I wasn't getting any hint of Cuban flavor from this smoke.

I enjoy the Torpedo shape, some may call it a Diplomat or a Perfecto or whatever but I like that shape. The cigar has a very dark wrapper, which was smooth and had a moderate sheen to it.

The taste was medium, very smooth with a firm draw, which produced ample mounds of smoke. I could definitely detect a hint of sweet (not chocolate and not candy store sweet but sweet) flavor. The ash was firm and held to 2/3rds of the cigars length. This while smoked outside in a fair wind. The burn was perfect and required no correcting of any kind.

The cost! To me in my area (Toronto Canada) was $19.00 Canadian. I thoroughly enjoyed this cigar and would recommend it to anyone.

I bought a couple of these as pal of mine was calling over for a Christmas visit and I thought the cartoon cigar shape would appeal to him.

The first thing I noticed was just how hard the cigars were, they were actually hard to clip, they really seemed to be packed tight. The second thing we both noticed was that they actually taste sweet in the mouth.

Despite the hardness the draw was good, not easy but not too firm. The volume of smoke was incredible, the dog still smells of smoke two days later. These were mild-medium cigars but plenty of taste and a great body of creamy, velvety smoke. Slightly sweet and musky flavours (almost tobacco perfume). This was a good smoke. There was always plenty to enjoy and by the end the flavour was rich and heavy. I almost had too much of a good thing.
