Notes:
I have always been a big fan of this line.
The El Jockos are some of my all time favorites.
The #2 is a big old Torpedo. The wrapper was
black as coal and the smell and taste of the
cigar before lighting was fantastic. It was
almost like a big thick licorice stick. The
draw before and after lighting was also perfect,
giving up tons of thick smoke. The flavor was
rich and strong, kind of peppery. It burned
slow and even with a good solid ash. Now the
bad news, as I got to the last 1/3 of the cigar
it turned very harsh and bitter. I know some
cigars will start to get hot near the end,
but this one did a total 180 when I hit this
mark. So much so that it almost startled me.
I tried a few more puffs hoping it would settle
back down, but it just got nastier and nastier.
Finally I just set it down.
I would not let this one instance deter me
from trying these again. As I said the El Jocko
have always been great cigars. This one unfortunately
just went south fast.
