The
CigarStore.com:
Cohiba Robusto cigars are flawlessly
handmade in the Dominican Republic
with specially selected Cuban
seed tobaccos and Indonesian
Jember binder, surrounded by
a vintage, aromatic Cameroon
wrapper. The experience is a
rich, smooth, and satisfying
smoke that lives up to its famous
pedigree.

Notes:
I first tried this brand when
it was introduced several years
ago, a local tobacconist hosted
a tasting. I was given a beautiful
double corona from a box marked
$12. It was probably the most
disappointing cigar I can recall
smoking.
The robusto that recently came
in a variety pack was no different.
I was eager to try it, thinking
my taste or the cigar might
have changed, or maybe I would
like the shorter shape more.
Not the case. The robusto tasted
mostly like ashes, no complexity,
no good tobacco flavor. Even
the construction was poor, the
second half burned very crooked,
no amount of re-lighting would
keep it burning straight.
Flavor is obviously very subjective,
what tastes bad to me might
be perfect for others. Construction
is very objective; I've smoked
$2 bundle cigars that were made
better than the Cohiba.
Being overpriced is not fatal
if the product is really good,
but when, as here, the product
is really bad, the cost adds
insult to injury.
