From CigarsDirect.com:
Introduced in the late 1990’s, the Ashton Virgin Sun Grown (VSG) line of fine cigars has become the jewel in the crown of the Ashton line. Considered one of the most sought-after cigars in the world, the Ashton VSG is truly a connoisseur’s cigar. The appearance is purposefully rustic, leathery, and earthy; and the taste is complex and multi-dimensional. Overall, these are some of the finest smokes in the world, unmatched in their full-flavored glory, and extremely difficult to find. The filler and binder is pure Dominican, while the wrapper is the finest Ecuadorian leaf available.

Notes:

I can't remember ever being disappointed by an Ashton VSG and the Wizard was no exception. I love these cigars. They are not cheap but unlike a lot of the pricier sticks out there I think these are worth every penny.

This one came from CigarsDirect.com a great online shop that seems to have an incredibly diverse selection available. This link will take you right to the Wizard.

This is a big cigar weighing in at 6.00 X 56. It feels great in your hand and your mouth. It's a REAL cigar. The construction is flawless. The description above says they look rustic which to me brings images of a rough exterior finish. I did not find this with mine. It was smooth as a baby's butt. Solid and I might even say polished.

The pre burn scent was awesome. Tobacco, leather and dirt. This baby lit up perfectly and burned evenly all the way down to the nub. The draw was smooth and even, giving up good volumes of rich blue smoke.

These are not mild cigars. It was strong but never overwhelming. I would not recommend this as your first cigar as you might not make it back. Then again why not start out with one of the best?

Now I smoke hard. The Wizard lasted exactly one hour. I'd guess that if you weren't quite as aggressive as I was you could easily get an hour and a half out of it.

The flavor was very much what the initial sniff offered. Rich tobacco, leather and dirt. It was complex as I've seen described in other reviews but you never lose your way with this one. It delivers pure smoking satisfaction from start to finish.

If I have any complaint at all it's that the ash seemed a bit flaky for such a solid stick. This was not an issue but I had to find something that was not absolutely perfect about this cigar and this is as close as I could come.

If you've not tried the Ashton VSG series and you really like cigars you need to try one or more of these. I love them but then I guess you've already figured that out.

Bottom line is spend the money and treat yourself to a very special cigar. You deserve it.
