Flor de T. Partagas cigars have been a staple diet of
Habanos lovers ever since the beginning of time. Well,
maybe not quite the beginning of time, but with an inauguration
date of 1845, Flor de T. Partagas cigars are amongst the
oldest and best known of the Habanos brands. The cigar
and the famous factory in which it is still made take
their name from Don Jaime Partagas, a Spaniard from Catalunya
who emigrated to Cuba and opened a small factory in La
Habana in 1827. Señor Partagas was an ambitious
young man but when he first arrived in Cuba he lacked
the capital to develop his business. For 18 years he contented
himself with small-scale production of cigars and the
acquisition of well-chosen plantations in the Vuelta Abajo
region of Cuba. When he eventually found the funds for
expansion he founded the company Flor de T. Partagas y
Cía. The rest is history as they say with the Partagas
factory now responsible for over 50% of all cigar production
in Cuba. Whilst the company flourished Señor Partagas
himself came to a tragic end - the victim of an assassins
bullet fired on one of his plantations.

Notes:
These cigars once again are a lesson to us all about
why Cubans are the best. Long finish on all three. Very
earthy and woody on all three with a delightful nutty
taste on the #2 and coffee taste on #3.
Worth the price many times over if you’re lucky
enough to get your hands on some. Impossible in the states
but if you travel abroad as I do take the time to try
these and the Cohiba Robusto
and Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure
No.2 that I have also written about on this review
board which is a wonderful place for us all to compare
notes.
